A Midsummer Night's Dream
This was one of my biggest challenges yet. I was given a completely
free hand in the design of this cake, after being given quantity
of people and theme of wedding. The bride who lived in London sent
me a picture of an idea and then it was up to me.
We then communicated by post and e-mail only meeting, when I delivered
the cake the day before the wedding!
Although the cake looks as though there were five tiers only two
were actually cake, one fruit and one chocolate, due to the number
of guests. I advised on the 'dummy' layers (knowing the size of
the barn at Leiston) so that the cake would not disappear into the
surroundings.

The theme was 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' so fairies, butterflies,
blossoms, stars, moonlight, forests etc were all the things I tried
to incorporate into the design.
Everything apart from the grass around the base were made from sugar
and the stars around the base of the moon.
My worst nightmare was transporting the cake and fairies from Norfolk
to Leiston but thanks to two friends who held the fairies in their
boxes all the way we arrived safely and with everything intact.

It was then that I met both the bride and groom who were delighted
with the cake.
We are all waiting for the final accolade, the wedding is due to
appear in Brides magazine.
